socks
i have begun my second pair of socks ever.
pattern: azure
yarn: lorna’s laces sheperd sock
colourway: argyle
needles: 2mm – i am a VERY loose knitter
i am quite happy with the way the colours are melding together as the sock is knit. This is my first pair of toe up, and i really am enjoying it. As i have 2 50gm skeins of yarn, knitting toe up means i just keep knitting till i run out of yarn. i don’t have to worry about how much yarn is left for the other sock.
apologies for the bad lighting
sherbet
i used to work with a lady who often wore gucci rush perfume. the smell always reminded me of sherbet.
recently at a bar i smelt the same perfume on someone next to me. gucci rush is has a very distinct scent. this girl’s boyfriend said it was a great compliment to tell someone they smell like sherbet. because of course i had to tell her that she smelt like sherbet…
i did first confirm that she was wearing gucci rush though.
blogging friend
welcoming another knitter friend who has entered the world of blogging:
i see this blog as a way to keep up with the numerous projects that frog churns through.
update on focaccia
i started again, and ditched the lemon juice infused dough into the compost. maybe it’s a bit wasteful, but it felt right to start again. the second batched worked out great, its now sliced up and in the freezer ready for lunches this week. i find that if you freeze it straight away it stays fresher than if you let it cool down and then freeze/store it.
announcing that i am an idiot…
i’m making focaccia.
so the recipe says: add yeast, oil and sugar to 1 1/4 cups warm water. So i get a glass of warm water (i don’t have a jug) and put it next to my glass of water with lemon juice…
so you can see my mistake right there: yep, that’s right i added the yeast etc to my lemon juice water.
i just realised my mistake when i had a sip of warm water…
i’ll let you know how the focaccia turns out.
sewing update
a comment made recently at knitting group reminded me that:
a) i have a sewing machine
b) i have fabric, patterns, pins and scissors
and that:
c) a + b = new clothing i could make
so. so far i have produced 2 nearly finished articles of clothing:
the dress is waiting for buttons. the top is waiting for me.
softie hiatus
i’ve made some progress and modifications to my softie, but as seen here by the absence of recent blog posts, motivation is not high. i just start new projects, later adding them to the pile of half-finishedness.
i still have time. not a good excuse. but anyway…
