my dad made me these buttons – on left, from American Walnut; on right, from Tasmanian Oak (pretty sure that is right). Both woods are from projects that my brother made.

my movie recommendation for the year, probably, as i seem to go to the movies rather infrequently…
so: go see ” the band’s visit” – funny, charming, engaging, subtle. David gave it 4 1/2 stars and Margaret gave it 4 which is high praise from those two.
